Amit is currently employed as SEI’s Planning, Development and Projects Manager.

In 2001, Amit was awarded a Government of Guyana Scholarship to Cuba and in 2008 he graduated from the University of Cienfuegos, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. After his return to Guyana in 2008, Amit was employed at GUYSUCO where he was the Cogeneration Power Plant Mechanical Engineer and was responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the Diesel Generators and Steam Engines. During his tenure at GUYSUCO, he gained training and experience in O&M of Wartsila engines, Steam Turbines, High- and Low-Pressure Steam Boilers, Pumps, etc. Amit was seconded from GUYSUCO to SEI in 2015. In 2020, he successfully completed studies in Project Management.  

In his leisure time, Amit enjoys spending time with my family and travelling remote areas around Guyana to explore and absorb its natural beauty.
