Since commencing operations, SEI has resolved many safety and environmental issues, addressed technical deficiencies, improved energy output to the DBIS, increased reliability and continually improved/ stabilized its operations. In 2016, with the completion of the full rehabilitation of its HFO diesel-generation plant, the company significantly increased supply of energy to the DBIS.
