Mr. Shewdath Singh Profile
Shewdath is currently employed as SEI’s Electrical
and Instrumentation Engineer.
Upon completing his secondary education, he
commenced attendance at the Guysuco Training Centre in Port Mourant, Berbice as
an apprentice in 2002. After successfully completing an apprenticeship, he
pursued courses in Industrial Electrical Crafts, Electrical Advances, and
Instrument Studies. In 2006, Shewdath embarked on work at Guysuco’s Skeldon
Estate as a Grade 2 Instrument technician and worked up to the level of Acting
Engineering Shift Manager in the Instrumentation Department. The closure of
Guysuco’s Skeldon Estate in 2017 saw him being employed by SEI as its
Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Superintendent.
Shewdath witnessed the commissioning of
the Skeldon Sugar Factory and Cogeneration Plant in 2009 and is currently
involved in major maintenances, troubleshooting and providing solutions that
enable the proper functioning of the electrical and instrumention equipment including
ABB’s 13.8kV alternators, processing instruments, boiler element control
systems, 13.8kV switchgears, protection relays and 69kV Circuit breakers.
In addition to currently pursuing online
studies in his field of work, Shewdath enjoys spending time with his family and
being actively involved in his local church.
